Remember, they are classified as fur-bearers so you are supposed to take the hide.

Unless they're on private property.  If shot/trapped on private property, you do not have to harvest the pelt.  Otherwise, you're stuck trying to skin one of the smelliest animals on the planet.

Heard a story about a group of Rangers out in the OTA doing some exercises. (obviously not some of our local boys that know better) One of them had to go drop a duece and off he went with a shovel and a roll of TP.  Kid ended up finding a pre-dug hole so he drops trou and proceeds to let loose in one pissed off badgers hole.  Medics were called and by the time they got there, the unit was standing around this kid who's ass was pretty torn up and everybody laughing but the kid of course.  The paramedics finally got the story out of the kid by the time they got him back to the hospital.

Can't imagine taking a duece into a badgers hole with Slim Jim and the Twins hanging there.  :eek:

Hmmm... aside from baiting them...

Would it be a viable option to flood the holes?
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy sights and thy trigger, they comfort me.

Thank goodness I'm too crazy to go insane

Used to get badgers in my folks pasture.  We would string together sprinkler pipes and hoses to get water into the hole.  Once filled badger will come out and he will be pissy

As opposed to their normal disposition? LOL, those things are grouchy all the time.

I guess I'd be grouchy too if I had to drag my balls around on the ground everywhere I went.

I wonder if a 4th of July smoke ball rolled down the hole would work? I know the kids accidentally rolled one into a neighbors open garage several years back on the 4th, and he came right out of his hole pissed off. I don't know if it would be a fire issue out in the grasslands though. For that matter a couple of firecrackers or a bottle rocket without the stick might work too. Again though, proper fire precaution would have to be observed.
