MGM Quarterly 3 gun
« on: January 25, 2011, 03:32:49 PM »
The time is here for the first MGM quarterly 3 gun at Parma.  This Saturday we'll kick off the 2011 season with our first five stage 3 gun match.  I am going to steal some stage ideas from a match I shot in Las Vegas last weekend that was a lot of fun.  Here are the details:
Who:  Anyone who wants to come and have a blast shooting three gun!!
What:  A three gun match that will have rifle targets out to 550y and as close as about 3 yards, pistol steel and paper, and shotgun shot AND slug targets.
When:  Saturday January 29th.  Set up at 07:30 shooting at 09:00.  I'll cover half the entry fee of the first 10 people that are there to help me set up and stick around to tear down.  When everything is all put away, I'll give you back $10 of your $20 entry fee.
Where:  Parma Rod and Gun Club
Why:  DUHHHHH  Do I even need to answer this????

I don't have the exact round counts done yet, but plan on four or six slugs, 70 rounds of shot, rifle and pistol.  Now remember, some of the rifle is going to be long range, and if you don't have the skills to hit the target or the self control to quit when you can't hit it, you'll need to bring a lot of extra!!    :rofl2:
I think we are going to shoot the first 3 Gun Nation shoot off stage so I can see how it is going to work.  Should be a lot of fun.  Other than that, get your dope for some long range shots and be ready to have a ton of fun!!
Adios,
TG

Awesome!!!!

Self control to stop shooting... man that's a hard one! If I haven't hit it, I don't want to stop.

Who's going? I'm in!

Count me in as well.  I'll try to be there early ($10 discount notwithstanding), but flying back from NM late Friday night into BOI...  Thanks for putting on the match.  I know you've been out of town and busy...

Did you guys know that this MGM 3 Gun match is listed in the USPSA Frontsight rag? I was just reading through it and on the next to last page, MG has put up a 3 gun calendar and there is our local 3gun match listed!

I don't know if most of you realize this, but we have a world class 3 gun match Director putting these on for us!

Talk about a cool place to live and shoot!

Thanks TG!

Haha!!  Please don't think I'm not appreciative, but I'm not sure it's "all that"  ::)  I'm just hoping everyone has a good time, learns something, is challenged, and goes home safe.  I'll be working on the stages, and hope to have something up before.....Saturday   Should be fun though.  I'll have a "precision" shotgun stage with some tight shots like I've seen at some matches across the country.  Should be fun.

Big thanks to everyone who helped set up and tear down.  It was a little soupy in spots but overall a pretty fun little match.  Here are the results.

Penalty for engaging target and not hitting it 10 secs

Penalty for not having the self control to quit when you can't hit it... oh about 120 seconds :dancin:

Great Match...  having a hard time a distance, CQB... blast away no problem... stick it out there at 300 to 450 yards... yeah, needs some work.

Thanks Travis!!! As usual great match! Scores are up on the Parma Site as well.

Great match TG!  There was a good blend of challenges and perfect for letting us know what we need to practice!

For me, I need to check my SG slug zero at different distances, rifle off-hand at plate racks, and from what I saw I'm not alone in needing more practice on the spinner with pistol.

Stage 2 was tricky.  I think everyone on my squad shot it differently.

I think it's my turn for the next 3G match, which will be:  March 6 at Nampa (weather permitting because I'm getting tired of Mud Matches).  More info later.

Sweet match, mud and all!

I think that I bombed stage four, with the spinner, to justify my purchace of a spinner the day before. No more excuses for me!

Thanks Travis for the great match and the new target.
