How much is 1K worth of .50 BMG worth?

I know a guy that knows a guy that supposedly needs some $ and is selling a rifle and 1K of .50 BMG.  I dunno how much its worth so I dunno if its a good deal or not.. :)
Anyone need any or know what that might be worth around this town?

I've seen it online for about $3.50 to $5.00/thou, depending on the bullet.

 In the reloading area there is suppliers that have ammo for sale. On the M-14 forum there is a list
of ammo suppliers that may work for you figuring cost....
