Already did, but I really don't think we have to worry about Idahos reps in Congress.

here's what i got back from Crapo:

February 22, 2007

Dear Matt:

Thank you for contacting me regarding your opposition to gun control measures. I agree with you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

Let me reassure you that I do not support gun control. We must protect and preserve our constitutional right to bear arms. I will not support any legislation that requires a waiting period for the purchase of a firearm, bans the ownership of firearms, promotes or requires the rationing or taxation of firearms, or the taxation of ammunition.

The Second Amendment reads: "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." I firmly believe this provision prohibits the federal government from denying citizens this right.

As you may know, gun control advocates continue to seek creative methods of advancing their agenda, both through legislation and litigation. You may be assured that I will continue to oppose all efforts to weaken Second Amendment rights.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please feel free to contact me in the future on this or any other matter of concern to you.

Sincerely,

Mike Crapo

United States Senator

anyone else get the same thing?  kinda seems like a blanket reply.

It is a blanket reply, but Crapo along with all our representatives has always been a staunch supporter.

Still a little (or big) reminder every now and again doesn't hurt!!

blanket reply or not, it is right on.  Only missing one thing: support any bill that will roll back the unconstitutional attacks on our rights to own firearms that have been in place for many years.
You know what I think?  It don't really matter what I think.

Just got a response from Craig.

"Dear Matt:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the ban on so-called Aassault weapons.@ I appreciate hearing from you and apologize for the delay in my response.

Like you, I am a strong supporter of our Second Amendment's protection of the right to keep and bear arms.  It is a fundamental right, and I have always opposed legislation attempting to erode it.  I did not support the original semiautomatic ban, and I was pleased that the Congress allowed this law to expire in September 2004.

However, Congresswoman McCarthy is seeking to reinstate the ban and has introduced H.R. 1022, the Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007.  A similar bill has not been introduced in the Senate during the current Congress, and comparable bills introduced in the past have not moved any further in the legislative process.  I assure you that I will oppose any legislation that would reinstate this ban, and will do everything I can to stop any such bill, or amendment, from becoming law.

Again, thank you for contacting me.  If there is anything further that I can do for you, please let me know.

Sincerely,

LARRY E. CRAIG
United States Senator"

Good for Craig, I like the "ban on so called Assault Weapons" statement. Cause as we all know, they are *not* assault weapons. I think that all our gun organizations (as well as gun owners in general) have dropped the ball in not trying to better educate people that these weapons only look like assault weapons.
