What's we gots is a box stock 1911, Brand Spanking New In Box, BSNIB for you guys that like acronyms.  ;D

Brand? TBD, but I've been told, it will NOT BE a F^%*& piece of s^*... (that was after I suggested brand that didn't set well ;D)

Come'on, you know you want a chance at it. Everyone needs a 1911 in the safe.  Makes the black plastic guns feel all good inside.

So is it going to be given away by random draw?

Some by random drawing and some by order of finish.

So the guys that do the best will have something, and the rest of us will also get a chance at something.

Anyone has something to donate to the prize table let me know, in a PM. Looking for 1911 specific things.

Little bump here to keep this on the top of your mind.  ;D

Registration is going great! we over 30 people signed up and 3 months to go! We have shooters of all abilities signed up and everyone will have a chance at prizes not just the top finishers!

We do have a celeberty of sorts, at least in our world. Caleb Gidding that was one of last year's Top Shot contestents and host of Gun Nuts Radio out of Washington has signed up, and is coming down.

We've also got the Idaho State Handgun Champion shooting with us, in both Limited and Production. Should be interesting putting them on a 1911 in .45!

Of course we've got some of the top finishers from the state IDPA match too. So not only will you get to have a blast shooting a 1911 Centennial match, you'll get to see and hang out with some of the best shooters in the state!

RK's showed me some cool things that he's doing, that everyone will get for just participating, and I've got some great stages designed. I'll start putting them up over the next month or two.

If you haven't signed up yet, head over to www.m1911-a1.com and sign up, you can print out a brochure and put it up wherever you want, and if you know anyone that's interested in doing some sponsorship donations to the prize table, send them my way!

See you at the Range!

The last couple of weeks have been great, we have picked up some more match supporters and another 1911 for the prize table, so we now have 2!

RK Gunsmithing is putting together some great prizes and will be there to support everyone if they break a part. We also have Tactical Solutions, Wilson Combat, Cutlery Shoppe, Center of Mass, Brownells, Dillon, MGM, Impact, Tamarack sports, and there are 2 other local companies that have indicated interest but haven't committed yet!

So not only is this going to be a great 100 year match! But we've got some great supporters of the sport helping make it happen.

If you haven't signed up yet, get to it, there may not be slots left! www.m1911-a1.com (cool web address eh??)

Remember, this is not a USPSA, IDPA, or any other type of sanctioned match, this is just a plain old FUN match, safety first and fun, fun, fun! Come on out!

Is there a round count yet? How many extra mags are recommended? I am borrowing equipment for this match and want to make sure I have everything before it gets too close to the date.

You know it! Info's on the web site!  ;)

I'd recommend 8 mags, 3 mags on 7 stages will be all you need but I've got one that will need 8, or more if you miss a lot! .. if you don't own that many, borrow a friends at the range...  we'll all be shooting the same type guns and all of us will have interchangeable mags!  ;D

Stage descriptions are going up, there's a couple there now, and round count is also listed!

April is almost upon on us, which means that it's almost time for the this great match!!!

Registrations are still coming in, prize table is growing with some really cool items. We've got shooters coming from all over the Northwest, and the lunch brigade is getting ready. In fact we are putting a fresh coat of paint in the club house and I believe we will be the first ones to use it after it gets all prettied up.

8 Stages of 1911 Single Stack Excitement you won't want to miss. Tell your friends and get them registered, you won't have this much fun for another 100 years!

Here's a list of our sponsor's so far, lot's of local support so stop in and say thank you!

Just a reminder! Some of you got this in your email, but here's a copy for those that are procrastinating!  ;)

And BTW, I was just in RK's yesterday and his is going all out to make the prize table rock!

We are excited at this 100 year Celebration of the 1911, and we hope that you will find the stages as fun and challenging. There will be a mix of high round count hosing stages with lot's of reloads, to several historical stages where the 1911 is the featured gun. You will also be shooting an Enfield battle rifle. WaHoo!!!

Here are some random notes as you prepare for the shoot:
Weather: It's Idaho, be prepared for anything, snow/rain/sun shine etc... I would dress in layers as it can range from 35 to 70 degrees, and probably will in the same day!

Lunch is provided, and we will have lunch available for those that are watching or just along for support. Around $8 for Lunch.

Registration will start at 7:30am, with a shooter's meeting and squadding at 9:00am. This will be open squading.

The 30-06 side match, which is free to the 1911 match participants, will follow at the end of they day at the Main Rifle Line!

Don't forget your BBQ gun! This will be the largest collection of 1911 pistols you will see in while, so bring your show off guns and let's see what you've got. Dust off those safe queens and let's see them! Special awards for the best looking BBQ guns!

If you need directions to the range, check out the Parma Rod and Gun Club website. www.parmarng.org There is no phone line at the range and cell phone coverage is spotty, so plan accordingly. Texting works well, just don't text while your shooting.

This will be a great day of shooting one of my favorite guns, and thank you for wanting to come out and shoot! Thanks to RK Gunsmithing, and all the great sponosors that have donated to the prize table, it will make for a great way to end the day. When you have a chance say thank you!

One last note, the Parma range is going to be one busy place this summer. The MGM Ironman is in June, the MGM Junior Camp is moving west and will be in July just before the MGM Grand Nationals Man on Man shootoff, and then we will be hosting the Idaho State IDPA Championships in September followed by the Area 1 Multigun Championships! And we have regular club shoots as well! For more information on upcoming events, see the Parma Web site.

See you at the range!

At some time during the match, could we have a display table out where we can check out everyone else's pistols who don't mind them being handled by other people?  I'd like to see what else is out there.  Thanks.

I agree, great first big match of the year.  Well done BK!

BK, if you were serious about making this an annual event, count me in again to help.  We can call it the Idaho Single Stack Challenge or something like that.  Set the equipment requirements based on a combination of IDPA's CDP division and USPSA's SSTK division since they are pretty darn close to begin with.

In fact, here's an idea for next year's match:

*3 stages of IDPA-style scenario CoF's (short, med, long)
*3 stages of USPSA-style stages (medium / long field courses), and score it using IDPA's scheme of points down (to keep the stats folks from going nuts).
*1 stage of Steel Challenge
*1 outlaw stage where we can have stage props or procedures that are otherwise illegal in IDPA or USPSA (i.e. 2 fisted shooting, MGM spinners, prop gun...)

Have two divisions:  Major and Minor so people can shoot their 9mm 1911's  -just so long as the gun has its basis in the original service pistol as designed by St. JMB.

Life is hard.  It's harder if you're stupid and can't shoot straight.

Thanks again to LM45 for putting this together and to pops and the other sponsors. I cant wait for the Idaho single stack challenge. ;)

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun watching everyone enjoy themselves so much. I had a lot of great help from some great people that made the match day such a success. Including my family and they had a good time helping out and running around the range.

I posted the scores Sat night and went to bed, so if you haven't checked your scores yet they are up on both the 1911 page and the parma web page.

I'm sure photos and videos will start appearing, can't wait to see some of the videos of the 2 fisted shooting! What a blast!

We were incredibly blessed with the most perfect weather you could ask for! Who would have thought you needed sun screen and your sunglasses all day with a 60% chance of rain!

If you have pics or photos, post them up. And don't forget to thank the sponsors, especially RK Gunsmithing! Thanks Pops!

This was the highlight of my match...because it doesn't happen very often!

Life is hard.  It's harder if you're stupid and can't shoot straight.

Brian

That pic you have on the PRGC's home page is my wife shooting Stage 1!  I'll definitely need a copy of that one.

Thx again for a great match and attention to all the details.  Well done!

Just previewed a video that I had a friend of mine do of the match. It's rocks... soon as it's done I'll post it up.

Here's a photo I grabbed from it. I think I'll call it, make my day!!!!!!
