Cheap Remington target 22LR
« on: December 08, 2010, 04:58:23 PM »
So I was at Mountain Home AFB a little while ago and had about $6.00 on me after buying gas for my truck and I found something really cool in the BX.
They had in the gun department a bunch of ammo (Most of which is overpriced) and they had stacks of little boxes of 50 of 22LR for only $2.00 ( no tax!  ;D ). So I bought 3 boxes and brought it home and promptly forgot about it.

Anyone ever use this stuff before? How accurate is it?
I know its only 22LR but Im curious because I want to shoot it but cant for the next 7 days because of exam preparations.

You may find that it won't cycle an auto that requires a vigorous push. When I've shot this it was similar to other standard velocity rounds like the Winchester T-22. I haven't shot any for several years but it used to be more reliable than I've found the current crop of Remington Golden Bullet.
All data is flawed, some just less so.

That is all I would shoot out of my target pistols when I was shooting silhouette matches.
The only ammo I found to be more accurate out of my pistols was the high dollar eley ammo.
At $2 a box I'd go back and get the rest of it.

I would if I had a .22 still. I sold mine because some one offered me the right amount  so now im sitting on 700+ rounds of .22LR with no way of shooting it.

Or give it to me and I'll fritter it away with no purpose in mind but to use it before it goes bad -  ;D

Not new!

The first Postal match started around 1983.

Actually it is not a Postal Match.  I don't send the scores in... in an envelope with a stupid stamp on it.  Scores are emailed.
So technically it is an email match.  Which makes even less sense.

details here

or more here

Back in the day everyone would shoot a match with the same COF at diffrent locations, then mail the scores in.

IDPA has a postal match also, Parma shot theirs last month, Nampa was yesterday.
