Nomad, I have a Ruger 77 .338 Win. Mag. that I bought new in 1974.  I've killed elk and a couple of Mule deer with it.

My favorite bullets have been the 210 grains Nosler Partition, and the Hornady 225 grains Interlock.  It has a Redfield 2x7 'scope on it and is very accurate.

(In my opinion, both those bullets will kill elk without any problem whatsoever, so long as the shooter shoots accurately.)

Around 1975 I sent it to Magna Port to have them Magna Port it as I had decided I was going to tame it or sell it.  I tamed it and have never been sorry.  As they say about a .338, "It's Hell, Death, and Destruction ... on both ends."
;D

My two best powders have been IMR 4350 and the discontinued Norma MRP.  Both are very accurate in my handloads.

I have RCBS dies and shell holder, brass, and loaded ammo.

If this is something that might interest you, shoot me a p.m.

L.W.
