22 Rifle Match
« on: March 16, 2008, 08:52:34 AM »
What are your thought on having a match using a 22 rifle
shooting just 22 long rifle bullet your choice or brand of bullet.
shoot out to 100 yds at different targets, starting at 25 and go
out to maybe further..
 Your thoughts....

I think it's a good idea.  Maybe have a couple different catagories, bolt action, semi auto, iron sights and optics.

Sounds like fun.  Something like that is done out at Blacks Creek range every now and then.

I'd rather have a tactical 2-gun match with 22lr rifle and pistol.  :o

Sounds like a match designed for a TS 1911 slide and M4 upper combo.

Yes, there is a lot of stuff here and out to the range. Not sure of the amount that
is still here but still enough to shoot.
The range is at Jerome Rod and Gun Club can load it up and have it some where else
Lots of area between here and Boise....
As for classes see what the group would like to do, have one old 22 and an idea!!!

A gentleman on Snipershide has also put together targets for Precision Long Range work out to 200 yards with the .22 . I have all the targets as well as shooting positions he reccomended . Most guys will tell you that a .22 at 200 is pretty similar to shooting the .308 at 1000 when using match .22 ammo except that it cost a LOT less .

I'm in for the patrol .22 shoot if we do it.  I just have to wait until the beginning of April and I'll be like Lefty and have half of the equation.  Maybe even have a team/pair competition as well.
Due to the actions of the offender...

LP,

Have you got one of these for an AR and if so what is your impression of the unit?

Needs to have High velocity ammo to work well. especially in FA so-so using "regular" velocity.

part of the problem is having a light enough hammer/spring  I did a 15 min. trigger job & it works much better.  I suppose that JP springs would be even better.  it sucked balls with a milspec group

Saturday I heard the guys from Tactical Solutions asking around if a .22 match with rifles and pistols would be of interest to anyone.

I told the that we had been floating the idea around on this forum, so all of ya that know the Tac Sol guys, give them a shout and let them know how interested we are in a .22 match and they can put one together. The fun part for us if they do that, is they'll have a few prizes to give out, and they would run it.

If it's anything like the LRTR match it would be worth it, that was cool.
