Hunting hogs...on a farm?
« on: October 06, 2010, 03:47:30 AM »
I don't know guys, this seems staged and they seem domesticated.
Seems pretty unsportsmanlike to me...seeing as I've hunted real hogs and all...

What say you...

NSFW, kind graphic..

:slightlyofftopic: They are tough.  A friend told me yesterday that a family around here was slaughtering pigs for the first time and had researched how to do it.  They popped it in the head with a .22 and it just pissed it off.  So they used a 9mm and it got even more upset.  So they stuck it and it screeched even more.  They finally got it put down but it was fairly traumatic.  Tried to do it right and got no joy. :/slightlyofftopic:

Personally I don't like the idea of staged or canned hunts.

You can tell by the floppy rounded ears and curly tail, that these hogs are 1st-2nd generation feral/domesticated farm animals.
Not to mention, I've only found myself that close to some real boar an hand full of times...and once they were aware I was there, they tried to kill me.

Hogs are tough, but I've killed 'em with .223 and .243 my whole life. They die just as quick as anything else if you're doin it right.

Wow, watching that really makes me think I don't wanna take up bowhunting. How much more ineffective could those shots have been. Standing 10 feet away dumping multiple shots into them seemed to be pretty useless. Whole thing seemed kind of ridiculous, hogs definitely seemed tame or used to people at least.
