Saw this at Everyday, No Days Off gun blog and thought it very inventive.  Inventive and funny.  It is not very practical at all but it would probably work well for noise reduction.

$55 gets you the adapter which is the part you register with the ATF according to the website.  The oil filter is considered the removable expansion chamber.

Gear head questions about the suppressor.

So, do I need a filter from a diesel to handle the extra capacity if I use a .45 caliber?

If I use a used oil filter it becomes a flame thrower, right?

Fram is crap, the filter media will fall apart and jam up the slide rails.

Will this work with Amsoil filters?

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Grin

That is an innovative idea for a suppressor.

And you drill a 1" hole through the filter, or does anyone offer super-ultra-mega-uber-extra high sights?   I just got back from China-Mart. I went to the automotive section and and couldn't get the digital filter finder to list any guns........(well, besides the Dodge "Colt" and "Magnum")
