Go get one or get it updated. Or go get some government supplied ID.

Well, each shop can make their own rules (as long as they don't break the ATF rules). Some shops accept 3 months of utility bills. Others don't.
Bottom line is you (or whoever) should either have a DL or state ID.

the real annoying part was they have switched to doing the 4473 on the computer so that works great for my non computer using dad with severe arthritis and slightly shakey hands and the you cant touch the mouse/keyboard to help him 15/20minutes later thats filled out and you get we cant sell you this cuz your dl is expired

They can use his CWP . If they use his CWP they don't have to run it through the BATF . I buy ALL my firearms using my CWP as my one and only form of ID .

I had the problem of moving, and while my DL was still good the address wasn't, solution was to walk over to the customer service counter and get my hunting/fishing license- where I told them my new address, then back over to the gun counter. Craziness.

I don't know about all the rest of you, but my DL # is the same exact as my CWP #. Got it memorized. Helps. Adios, TG

in my experience you are usually asked for your cwp when buying a firearm not a drivers license.
and my dl number is on my cwp.... it even says dl#...

I went thorugh this with walmart. Ended up calling the ATF and it is a legal form of government ID and they have no reason to refuse it. Just chalk it up to a screw you and dont go back to Impact. They are getting as bad as the big box stores. Fuck em.

Gentlemen, Up to this point it has been our policy to ask for a current driver's license and a CWP, if you have one. You need to have a government issued ID with your current address on it, if not you need something government issued (hunting/fishing license, CWP, vehicle registration) with your current address on it. carhartfarmer-I was not here when you and your dad came in to pick up the 1911-22. My employees were following policy. You bring up some good questions, so I went to find the answers. After contacting FFLGuard and ATF, we've learned that an Idaho issued CWP is valid for residency, as long as it has your current address on it. We will still continue to ask for valid driver's license and cwp, if you have one. If your driver's license is expired and all you have is your Idaho CWP, then we can use that for ID and forgo a background check. Your Idaho CWP will always forgo a background check, even by itself. Sorry for the confusion. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me direct. Thanks for your patience. Ryan
